The Junior League of Wilmington, DE kicked off Period Poverty Awareness Week by joining together with the Teen Warehouse, U by Kotex, the National Foundation for Women Legislators, and the Alliance for Period Supplies to host a period product drive on May 24, 2021.

Members of the community dropped off donations of tampons, pads, and liners at the Teen Warehouse to help stock the League’s period supply bank. League members collected over 4,000 supplies, and Kotex donated an additional 20,000 items as a part of the event. The JLW uses donations like these to create supply kits distributed at local events and by community partners, helping address the issue of period poverty by making sure these necessary items are available to any menstruator who needs them.
