Adwoa joined the League in 2019 after moving to the Wilmington area for work. Wanting to make friends in her new home and interact and serve her community, joining the Junior League of Wilmington was a natural fit. During her time in the League, Adwoa has served on the Member Activities and Member Development Commitees. These placements allowed her to engage with members in JLW and sharpened her skills that she is currently using as VP of the Membership Council.
Professionally, Adwoa is a Research Biomaterials Engineer with W.L. Gore & Associates in Elkton, MD where she supports technology development of materials and technologies used in products manufactured by Gore’s Medical Products Division. She holds a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Virginia Tech, a M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Florida, and a Ph.D. In Materials Science and Engineering from Virginia Tech, focusing on materials for medical applications.
When she’s not working or participating in Junior League events, Adwoa enjoys crafting, cooking, watching and playing various sports, and spending time with friends and family. An avid traveler, Adwoa has been to over 20 countries and can’t wait to continue exploring the world.
